CAS is thrilled to welcome CD Ally Bader back to Creative Acting Studios for this workshop!
In this workshop, actors will bring in a prepared scene of their choice. Please ensure your scene meets the following guidelines:
The material must be from a TV show or film that has already aired.
Scenes Must be no longer than 2.5 pages.
Email your sides to sonya@creativeactingstudios.com no later than September 20th so we can have them ready for the reader.
Label your scene with your name and specify in the email the character you are reading for.
Ally has been a respected casting professional for over fifteen years, working across both film and television. Her recent associate casting credits include Shelter for Amazon and American Horror Story for FX.
She spent three years as the lead casting associate to Jane Jenkins and Janet Hirshenson prior to their retirement, contributing to numerous feature films for iconic directors such as Ron Howard, Rob Reiner, and Chris Columbus.
Ally was nominated for a 2016 Heller Award for Casting Associate of the Year and received a 2015 Artios Award nomination for her work on the pilot for AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire with Bialy/Thomas and Associates. Most recently, she earned an Artios nomination in 2024 for her work on Netflix’s Murderville.
Ally has also served on the Board of Directors for the Casting Society for four years and continues to contribute to the organization by volunteering on several committees.

About Joanna Davis:
Joanna Davis has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. She began her career as a casting intern while still in high school and went on to gain experience at production companies, a talent agency, and on documentaries. Building on everything she learned in those early roles, Joanna discovered her true passion for casting and has since worked consistently in both television and film.
Her casting work has taken her around the world, and she’s always on the lookout for new and exciting talent.

We're thrilled to welcome back casting assistant Kymberli McKanna whose industry experience spans nearly 15 years across New York and Los Angeles. With a rich and diverse background in both TV and theatre, Kymberli brings a well-rounded, insightful perspective to the casting process, and now, to your next workshop!
Kymberli spent nearly 15 years in New York & Los Angeles learning & working in varied roles across the industry. She’s a Casting Assistant on 9-1-1 (ABC ) and has worked on projects like American Horror Stories (FX). Prior to joining the 9-1-1 team, she worked as a Casting Assistant on Very Valentine (Lifetime MOW) and Triangle (ABC Pilot), as well as commercials, theatrical projects, and even a video game. During her time in LA, she gained unique perspective as an Audition Production Assistant for Broadway & National Tour productions like Hamilton, Wicked, Waitress, the live NBC/FOX musicals and many more. Additional Casting credits include: Associate Casting Director for Celebrity Cruises, Casting Director for the feature film F.U. Guys, short film When I'm Gone, web series This Just In and musical Next to Normal (Panic! Productions). Other notable projects: A Little New Music (Concert Series/Producer), LA’s Next Great Stage Star (Guest Judge), Broadway to the Rescue & The Big Fat Christmas Show (Benefit Concert Series/Associate Producer), Louisiana Thespian Festival (Keynote Speaker & Master Classes).
This workshop will feature live reads with feedback and re-directs from Kymberli. Participants will select from a curated folder of scenes sent by Kymberli. The material chosen will allow each actor to dig deep, showcase their strengths, and truly sink their teeth into the work.

CAS is thrilled to welcome back film & TV casting associate Jenn Noyes for an exciting self-tape workshop!
Jenn is part of the busy casting team behind several high-profile film and television projects, making this a fantastic opportunity to have your work seen and receive real-time insight from someone actively working in casting right now.
This workshop will include self-tape reviews, live feedbackfrom Jenn, and a Q&A covering everything from audition preparation and performance choices to the inner workings of a busy casting office.
Participants are invited to submit aself-tape of a scene of your choice,2.5 minutes or less. You may also submit a previously recorded tape, provided you have permission to share it.
Jenn will watch your tapes in advance and come prepared to discuss each one during the workshop, offering individual feedback and insight.

BIO: Jenn Noyes is a CD based out of Chicago, IL working in film, television, and commercial casting since 2014. Winner of the Casting Society of America's Spotlight Award in 2023, she has also received Artios nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Casting for both The Chi (Showtime/Paramount+) and Deli Boys (Hulu). Throughout her career, Jenn has had the pleasure of working on additional projects such as Justified: City Primeval (FX), Paper Girls (Amazon), Night Sky (Amazon), 4400 (The CW), and Chicago Med (NBC) as well as large scale searches for pilots and feature films. Originally from New England, she earned her BFA from the University of Virginia and a Master's degree in Arts and Entertainment Management from Columbia College Chicago.

THE MOCK SELF-TAPE CASTING SESSION WITH CD JAMI RUDOFSKY

What happens when a casting director receives multiple self-tapes for the exact same scene?
How do they decide which performances stand out? What choices work? What might make a take stronger? And what ultimately makes them want to see an actor move forward?
Join CD Jami Rudofsky for a special mock self-tape casting session designed to give actors an inside look at how casting actually works.
Actors will be divided into small groups of 3–4, with each group working on the same scene. You’ll have the opportunity to make your own choices, tape the scene, and then watch how other actors approach the exact same material.
Jami will review the different takes and give individual feedback on what is working, what could be adjusted, and which choices help an actor stand out. These sessions are a lot of fun!

Join award-winning casting director Becca McCracken for an in depth one-on -one session exploring the business side of building and sustaining a professional acting career.
Becca has more than 20 years of experience casting theatre, film, television, and commercial projects nationwide. She currently serves as Director of Casting & Artist Cultivation for the Tony Award-winning Court Theatre in Chicago, where she has cast more than 30 productions. She is also a member of the Casting Society’s Board of Directors and a two-time Artios Award winner.
This seminar will offer actors practical insight into the industry, along with the opportunity to engage directly with Becca through personalized, one on one interaction during the session.
